The woman arrived home on Laurel Street shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, when the man followed her and hid behind one of the cars parked in the driveway, according to Watertown police.
Once the woman was inside her home, a security camera caught the man trying to break into both the front and back doors.
Police said no one was harmed during the breaking and entering, and they are now asking the public for help in identifying the man.
He is described as being around 30 years old, and was seen on video wearing a black Reebok sweatshirt with a tattoo on his left hand.
Extra patrols will be sent to the area as the investigation continues, Watertown police said.
Anytime with information about the man or any other security videos is asked to call Det. Jenn Connors 617-600-1310 or Det. Sgt. Kenneth Swift 617-972-6538.
